Amy found this recipe and tried it for our United Way bake sale at work. It is the first chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever seen with pudding in the mix.

Painting Cookies

This Christmas, my family decided to do something we had not done for nearly 20 years: paint cookies. Instead of using our traditional recipe for painted sugar cookies, one of my sisters purchased ready made dough. They tasted a little better, but were harder to paint than I remember.

Recipe - Painted Sugar Cookies

As a kid, we made sugar cookies with cookie cutters. These are the plastic type of cookie cutter that include both the outside shape and other details. For example, a snowman with facial features, a scarf, etc. Once they are baked, we used food coloring to paint on the cookies.
Years have gone by since we last did this. Our family decided to paint cookies with the kids, this year. Here is the sugar cookie recipe that we have use, originally from the old red family cookbook.
